COVID-19 UPDATE - June 1, 2020

On May15th, Virginia will move into Phase One of reopening.

This means that beginning on May 15th, we can start accepting short term stays! We can also start providing activities and amenities to our campers as long as we are in compliance with CDC guidelines and Executive Order 61.

We are reinforcing proactive steps that the CDC recommends to prevent the spread of germs. Please help us be proactive against the spread of germs by adhering to the following policies while camping at Jellystone Park™ at Gloucester Point:.

  •  Everyone must maintain 6 feet of social distance between people not in your household.
  • No gatherings of groups of more than 10 people.
  • We also strongly recommend wearing a face mask when you are not on your campsite.
  • Visitors are not permitted. Your site temporarily belongs to the names on your registration papers.
  • Day Passes are not permitted.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects
  • Stay home and do not camp if you are sick or have flu-like symptoms.

Many of our activities and amenities are open during Phase One with modifications! Please continue reading for details on each activity or amenity.

What you can do at Jellystone Park Gloucester Point?

The following activities and amenities are available the weekend of May 15th. Daily activities begin May 21st. 

  • Laser Tag is open for scheduled sessions for campers age 8 and up. Laser Tag sessions are $5/player. There is a limit of 10 players per session and players must sign up at the Ranger Station ahead of time. Closed toed shoes are required. Players must maintain social distance of at least 6 feet.
  • The Pine Cone Corral is open for scheduled Petting Zoo and Pony Rides:
    • Petting Zoo is limited to 10 guests at a time in the corral. Some animals, such as those that need dedicated handlers, cannot participate in the petting zoo. Social distance must be followed in the corral and in the queue line outside the corral.  Shoes and adult supervision of children 12 and under are required.
    • Pony Rides require an adult signature for each rider and all campers who enter the Pine Cone Corral must wear shoes. Saddles will be disinfected between riders, so please be patient with us. If a child needs assistance mounting or dismounting, their parent must provide the assistance. 150 lb. weight limit.
  • The Arts & Crafts Store will be open 4 hours daily. While the arts and crafts store is open, campers can purchase craft kits, ceramics, sand art, gem mining, and tie dye. Seating is available only for campers painting ceramics or doing sand art projects. Cash and credit card payments are not currently being accepted at the Arts & Crafts store. All purchases will be charged to your campsite.
    • Gem Mining is available while the Arts & Crafts Store is open. Only one family may use the mining sluice at one time. Gem mining trays will be sanitized between use.
    • Ceramics are also available as kits delivered to your campsite. Paint and brushes are included.
    • Tie Dye is available by appointment only while the Arts & Crafts Store is open. Call ahead of time to schedule your family’s session. One family per time slot.
  • Check the activity schedule for a variety of socially distant activities and bear visits! These will include craft and activity deliveries to your campsite, drive-by visits from a bear, animal interactions at the Pine Cone Corral, and events on Facebook Live.

The following activities and amenities are open daily:

  • Fishing & Crabbing Piers are open. Please maintain a social distance. Bait and tackle may be purchased in the Ranger Station
  • Horseshoes are open. Please bring your own equipment and maintain social distance.
  • Paddle boats, kayaks, and stand up paddle boards are available, weather permitting, for 30 minute sessions daily from 2-6pm at the Boat Shack. If there is not a staff member at the boat shack, please call and allow us 15 minutes to get there. Boats, oars, and life jackets will be sanitized between use. The last boat leaves no later than 5:30pm daily. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult when on a boat. Adult signature required for all boat sign outs.

The following amenities are currently available:

  • Golf Cart Rentals are available. Please call the Ranger Station to add a golf cart rental to your reservation. Golf cart check-in and check-out times are the same as campsites: 4pm check-in and 12pm check-out.
  • The Pic-a-nic Basket is open the weekend of May 15th and daily starting May 21st with a limited menu. Delivery to your site is encouraged, including pints of ice cream! Cash and credit cards will not be accepted at the Pic-a-nic Basket.
  • The Ranger Station is open daily with a maximum of 6 patrons inside as a time. We will also gladly take phone orders for delivery or pick up at the window.
  • One Bathhouse is open with increased sanitation procedures.
  • Laundry is open but limited to 2 people inside at a time.

To stay in compliance with Executive Order 61, the following amenities and facilities are closed:
